Farmers and Ranchers across the state throw their support behind Governor Kelly’s Steady Leadership
TOPEKA – Today a bipartisan group of over 50 farmers and ranchers from across the state endorsed Governor Laura Kelly for re-election, citing Governor Kelly’s successful leadership in rebuilding Kansas’ economy, investing in the agriculture industry, and supporting local Kansas farmers and ranchers.
“Laura Kelly is making positive changes for Kansas farmers, rural business owners, and our rural communities.” former Kansas Department of Agriculture Secretary, Adrian Polansky said. “Kansas rural communities need good roads, good schools and healthy hospitals. Governor Kelly has kept KDOT funds for roads, funded education and advocated for Medicaid expansion, which will help rural hospitals and save lives. For a bright future for agriculture and rural Kansas, we must re-elect Governor Laura Kelly.”
“Our agriculture industry is our state’s biggest economic driver. In Kansas, farming is a way of life and local Kansas farms are vital to our economy – they feed the nation and the world,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “During my time in office, I’ve made it a top priority to ensure that our farmers and ranchers have the resources and support they need to succeed. I’m honored to have these Kansans join the team.”
Since Governor Kelly took office in 2019, she has prioritized investments in Kansas’ agriculture industry. Governor Kelly invested in shortline rail projects to move products to market more cost effectively and more efficiently, created KansasAgStress.org – a mental health resource for Kansas farmers and ranchers to help deal with stress, depression, and other mental health issues, and created the Wildfire Task Force to create recommendations for how Kansas communities can better prevent, respond to, and recover from wildfires – which often impact Agriculture workers. Governor Kelly also fully funded the state water plan for the first time in nearly 15 years, ensuring that Kansas farmers have continued access to this vital resource in the future.
Governor Kelly’s campaign continues to build momentum earning broad support from every corner of Kansas, including former RNC Committeewoman Alicia Salisbury, former Republican Attorney General Robert Stephan, former Republican Representative Jan Kessinger, former Republican Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger, over 160 other Kansas Republicans, over 125 current and former Kansas educators, the Kansas Carpenters Union, Equality Kansas, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union of Kansas, the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Union of Kansas, over 60 Kansas small business owners, the Kansas Service Employees International Union, the Kansas City Pipe Fitters Local 533 Union, the Kansas AFL-CIO, Kansas Laborers’ Local 1290, and End Citizens United & Let America Vote, The Greater Kansas City Building and Construction Trades Council, the Wichita / Hutchinson Labor Federation, the Ironworkers Local 10 Union, the Roofers Local 10 Union, and Education First Shawnee Mission.
