MIDDLE OF THE ROAD: New Ad Highlights Governor Laura Kelly’s Bipartisan Approach to Governing

Ad highlights Governor Kelly’s ability to work across the aisle to deliver for Kansans

TOPEKA – Today, Governor Laura Kelly’s campaign launched “Middle of the Road,” a 30-second television ad highlighting Governor Kelly’s track record of reaching across the aisle, working with both parties to deliver for Kansans.

The ad, which will run statewide, is a continuation of a substantial six-figure ad buy and comes on the heels of a slate of endorsements from Republicans across the state. The Governor’s first ad, titled “Back on Track,” aired during the Kansas Jayhawks’ appearance in the NCAA Final Four game, and highlights the Governor’s record of rebuilding Kansas. Governor Kelly fully funded our schools, brought record business investment to the state, restored funding to fix our roads and bridges, and balanced the state’s budget — all while cutting taxes for Kansans.

“Whether it’s balancing the budget, funding our schools, or fixing our roads, Governor Kelly will work with anyone to get things done for Kansas,” said campaign manager Shelbi Dantic. “Governor Kelly is not too far left – or not too far right and her bipartisan approach has helped restore the Kansas economy and make critical investments like fixing our roads – just like the one in Auburn.”

Transcript:

Like most Kansans, I’m not too far right or too far left.

I’ve always been pretty middle of the road.

And that’s how I’ve governed.

Getting Republicans and Democrats to meet in the middle.

It’s how we turned a budget deficit into a record surplus.

How we took a school system that was underfunded and made sure it was fully funded.

And it’s how we’re fixing roads all across Kansas,

Including this one right here.

Amazing what you can do when you govern from the middle.
